The problem

The long ski edge is a hindrance for easy turning. Scores of solutions have been tried in the last 100 years: stem turns, parallel turns with skidding aside, jump turns and finally side-cut skis carving perfectly one selected radius curve.

"Rocking" on ski tail with fins

The RaxSki can reduce its effective length for the duration of turn. Its tail was bent upwards behind the binding and equipped with 3 guiding blades ("fins") such forming a short running base. Shifting your weight to ski tails will lift ski tips from the snow and "shorten" your ski by 30, 60 or even 90%.
Such a short ski would rather wobble than track (the problem of all snowblades). With RaxSki you can use rear fins to track on hard surface like an ice skater or to surf in powder like a board on its rear fin.

RaxSki can be controlled as simple as a car

When running on ski tails you can control the skiing direction by turning both RaxSkis around the vertical axis as if you were turning the steering wheel. Like a car driver, you can adjust this turn at any point of curve to react quickly to a new situation. After the curve you transfer the weight forward and your RaxSkis “grow” to the original length again.
